General Inquiries & Feedback

What to include in your message:

  • A clear description of your question or feedback

Bug Reports & Technical Issues

If you have encountered a technical error, an inaccurate summary, or unexpected behavior, please report it to:

Known limitations (not bugs):

  • Videos without captions cannot be summarized — this is expected behavior.
  • Live streams in progress cannot be summarized until the stream ends and captions are generated.
  • Age-restricted or private videos cannot be accessed and will return an error.
  • Very long videos (>2 hours) receive partial summaries based on the first ~30,000 characters of captions.
  • AI summaries are generated from captions only — purely visual content (diagrams, slides shown without narration) is not captured.

Distill does not collect personal accounts, login information, or browsing history. The only data temporarily stored is the video ID used to cache summary results for up to 24 hours.

To submit a copyright removal request or formal DMCA takedown notice, please contact:

Please include in your DMCA notice:

  1. Your contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  3. The YouTube video URL and/or Distill summary URL at issue
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, under penalty of perjury
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

We will respond to properly submitted DMCA notices within 5 business days. Note that Distill processes only publicly available caption data and generates transformative AI summaries — it does not reproduce original video content.
